Adrianna came to me as a two year old in 1999. Originally selected as a lesson horse prospect, she soon proved to me that she would be so much more than that!
Started in March of her three year old year, Adrianna began her show career in hunter pleasure with me.
Several wins at Open shows preceeded Adrianna's debut at her first Arabian show under saddle.
My first time showing Hunter at a rated show, and Adrianna's first A outing under saddle netted us a 3rd and a 5th in some tough classes! Not bad for a three year old!
The following spring Adrianna began her career as a dual purpose horse - show horse and lesson horse. One of the few horses who can be quiet enough to give lessons but brilliant enough for me to show, Adrianna was fast earning herself a permanent position in my barn and in my heart.
Giving lessons didn't keep Adrianna from continuing her own education. We tried our hand at Saddleseat, at which she is beautiful even though it's not her first choice.
During her four year old year, Adrianna racked up an impressive listing of wins with the kids in open Saddleseat competition - something like 15 blue ribbons and numerous 2nds and thirds, over the course of just a few months!
In August of that year,
Adrianna returned to Arabian competition,
this time coming away no less than
Reserve Champion Hunter Pleasure Jr. Horse!
Having proven herself to me as a show horse and a school horse, it was time for Adrianna to take on a new challenge - one that she rose to with great enthusiasm!
Adrianna proved to be a wonderful jumper! Not surprising, given her great attitude at everything else to date!
After a debut over fences at Piedmont Saddle Club's annual show, in which she took 3rd in the warmup and won the 2' class, Adrianna headed up to VA for the Shenandoah Arabian Show, the biggest Arabian show on the East Coast!
Although the judging was disappointing, Adrianna turned in wonderful rides in both Hunter Pleasure and Western Pleasure, in her last year as a Jr. Horse. However, it was in the over fences division that Adrianna got the recognition she deserved! 2nd in the A round and winning the B round, she ended up Reserve Champion for the Crossrails division!
Adrianna continued her winning ways, both with me and with the students, with more wins in Saddleseat, Hunter Pleasure, and Hunter over Fences!
2003 marked Adrianna's move to Serendipity! Now she truly became Queen of all she surveyed! She continued to rule the lesson program and keep the other horses in line.
